Democrats should . . .

Let’s define ourselves for once.

Americans who watch Fox News get a lot of information about the left. It’s wrong, of course. But it’s the only information out there because the Democrats with the microphones mostly cower in closets instead of telling the story of a better world.

Leftists have a cogent, cohesive vision of a world based on human rights and justice. It’s a world where people are free to be themselves. It’s a world that celebrates diversity in many forms. It’s a world that cares for those who are in need, and provides a safety net to the many who could one day be in need. It’s a world in which no more money is wasted on health insurance, and risk is minimized by having everyone be part of one large risk pool. It’s a clear alternative to the world of hatred that Republicans are creating. Tell that story, for crying out loud.

The biggest thing Republicans did right is they tuned into people’s dissatisfaction with the status quo. When did we become the party of the status quo? Hello: nobody likes the status quo! Every time Biden and Harris’s whiny surrogates talked about how great the Biden economy was, we lost votes. Hello: nobody under 50 can buy a house. Trump tapped into that. We told suffering people that they were wrong or stupid because in fact the economy was great because of the Dow. We lost our souls. We need to get them back, if you want to stop losing and start winning. That means painting a picture of a better future.
